Scheduled IRSJA Conferences :

Our spring 2008 meeting will be in Boulder at the Millennium Hotel. The conference will begin on Wednesday April 16th and go through Saturday April 19th. The room rate will be $119  (corrected from $109).

The fall 2008 meeting, in keeping with our effort to achieve a geographical balance, will be held in Virginia Beach at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel. The dates of the conference are Wednesday Oct. 15 through Saturday Oct. 18. Oceanfront rooms will be $121, non-oceanfront rooms will be $104, executive level rooms will be $141, and 1 bedroom suites for Executive, Training and Review Committee meetings and interviews will be $219. The hotel provides shuttle service to nearby restaurants.

The spring 2009 meeting will be held again in Boulder at the Millennium Hotel from Wednesday April 22 through Saturday April 25. The rate will be $122.

IRSJA Admissions

The IRSJA spring meeting will be held at the Millennium Harvest House Boulder in Colorado from Sunday, April 13, 2008 through  Sunday, April 20, 2008.  Interviews with the Admissions Committee will be on Thursday and Friday, April 17 and 18.

Jungian Graduate Program

In partnership with The Jung Center of Houston, Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center (San Francisco) will offer fully-accredited MA and PhD degrees in psychology with a concentration in Jungian studies starting in fall 2008. Melding Saybrook's at-a-distance learning with The Jung Center's in-person seminars, this specialization provides much-needed opportunities for serious students and clinicians to deepen their understanding of Jung's vital work in an academic context. James Marshall Barnett, 75, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, of injuries in an automobile accident.  James Barnett was a Jungian psychoanalyst, West Texas native, holder of degrees from Yale, Harvard, University of California-Santa Clara and (PdD) from University of Texas-Austin.  He was the husband of Camille Cates Barnett, former D.C. chief management officer and is survived by four children: Eric Austin Barnett, of Charlotte, N.C., Justin Halloway Barnett of San Rafael, Calif., Timothy Marshall Barnett of Charlotte, N.C., and Jennifer de la Fonteijne-Barnett, of Davao, the Philippines, and by six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at All Souls Memorial Episcopal Church, 2300 Cathederal Ave. N.W., at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, followed immediately by internment at the Rock Creek Cemetery.

Our dear friend and colleague Gene Monick died at the age of 78 on Christmas Eve, 2007, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A member of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA) and the Association of Graduate Analytical Psychologists (AGAP), he graduated from the C.G. Jung Institute-Zurich in 1977, after having been a prominent, active, and politically outspoken Episcopalian priest for many years in Minnesota and New York City (USA). He never lost that energy and involvement.
